Afro Dead re-arranges the Grateful Dead catalog through West African and Afro-pop rhythms — highlife guitars, polyrhythmic percussion, big horn lines — and turns the songs into an all-night dance floor. The band is a regular at Ashkenaz in Berkeley and plays Moe's Alley and festival stages around Northern California.
