American Beauty Band

American Beauty Band is a six-piece out of New Brunswick, New Jersey that plays both the Grateful Dead catalog and Jerry Garcia Band material. The lineup is Katie Giordano on vocals and percussion, Larry Brent and Fred Scholl on guitars and vocals, Rich Brotman on keyboards, Mark Truesdell on bass and Jamie Lilling on drums; Scholl also gigs separately as Fred Scholl & Friends. New Jersey Monthly named them among the state's notable Dead tribute acts in its 2024 feature on the NJ tribute scene. They work a Central Jersey and Staten Island circuit — Hailey's Harp & Pub in Metuchen, The Union House in Burlington, Woodbridge Brewery, and Rab's Country Lanes, The Hop Shoppe and Bravo Pizza on Staten Island. Their site carries an in-memoriam note for Fred Giordano (1964-2024), the band's sound engineer and organizer and Katie Giordano's husband.
