Brown Eyed Women

Brown Eyed Women bill themselves as the world's only all-female Grateful Dead tribute ensemble, formed in 2019 after David Gans spotlighted women playing Dead music on his radio show Tales From the Golden Road. The current lineup is Jill Simmons (lead vocals), Liv Zutphen (lead guitar), Patti Spadaro (rhythm guitar), Caroline Killoh (keys), Jen Rund (bass) and Denise Parent (drums and lead vocals). Members live in Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Florida and convene to tour, playing rooms and festivals coast to coast including Skull & Roses and Moe's Alley in Santa Cruz. They play the catalog straight, with attention to tone and detail rather than reinvention.
