China Rider

China Rider was dreamed up by guitarist Logan Thomas in 2015 and took the stage for the first time in downtown St. Cloud, Minnesota in June 2016 after nearly a year woodshedding. The lineup is Thomas on lead guitar and vocals, Luke Ferkinhoff on rhythm guitar, Robert Hubanks on bass, James "JR" Spangler on keys and Jim Caron on drums. They aim at the improvisational spirit of an authentic Dead show rather than note-for-note recreation, blending blues roots and country into the catalog. They play across Minnesota, from the Red Carpet in St. Cloud to Crooners and First Avenue in the Twin Cities.
