Dead Collective

Dead Collective formed in 2014 in Easthampton, Massachusetts to play the music of the Grateful Dead and the Jerry Garcia Band. The core is Tom Williams on lead guitar as music director, Bob Hyland on guitar and vocals, Joe Green on keys and vocals and Doug Hegeman on drums, with the bass chair filled by a rotating cast drawn from other Western Mass Dead bands. Their stated emphasis is the danceable end of the catalogue plus the jazzier improvisation, and they have played festivals including GangaFest, Nashville In The Berkshires, the Jerry Day Festival in Great Barrington, the Apple Jam and the Greenfield fireworks celebration alongside Pioneer Valley clubs like Hawks & Reed in Greenfield and Bright Ideas Brewing.
