The Grateful Allman Band Experience

The Grateful Allman Band Experience, GABE for short, is a Frederick, Maryland act that plays the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers Band and The Band in one improvisation-driven show modeled on the spirit of the Watkins Glen Summer Jam. The lineup pulls players from Mid-Atlantic touring bands including Danger Bird, Covered with Jam, the Montgomery Warlocks and The Crimestoppers. They are pointedly not a costumed tribute, aiming instead at the feel and interplay of the originals. Over more than a decade they have worked 40-plus regional rooms from the Carolinas to New Jersey, including Burley Oak, the 8x10 in Baltimore, the State Theatre of Havre de Grace, Milton Theatre, Richmond Music Hall and Tipsy Teeze in Morgantown, West Virginia.
