Grateful Dames

Grateful Dames are an all-women Grateful Dead band based in the San Fernando Valley, listed out of North Hollywood. The lineup is Dani-O Eslin (lead guitar, vocals), Heathor Kulber (rhythm guitar, vocals), Ann Vannoy (drums), Holly Weisbuch (bass and mandolin) and Lindsay Vannoy (Hammond B3). Several members are longtime Deadheads: Kulber followed the band up and down the West Coast until Garcia's death and went on to design logos for the Dead, The Who and the Rolling Stones, while Weisbuch attended 100-plus Dead shows and has played with Cubensis and Rusted Roses. They run a recurring 'Happy Hippy Chick Party' at Canby's in Van Nuys and otherwise rotate through Valley and Westside rooms - The Barrel Tavern's Monday Dead night in Sherman Oaks, Universal Bar & Grill, The 3 Clubs, Venice West's Grateful Brunch - plus fair dates like the Kern County Fair.
