The Grateful Dread reimagines the Grateful Dead songbook through reggae rhythms — Jon Zeeman and Mike Benjamin on guitars and vocals, Wes Nagy on keys, Edwin Horowitz on bass, Tom Major on drums — and has been a Martha's Vineyard fixture since the mid-2000s, playing Oak Bluffs and Edgartown rooms and summer nights at Featherstone Center for the Arts. Their live album, The Grateful Dread Live, came out in 2010. Generations dance together at their shows: longtime Deadheads and island kids alike.
