The Grateful String Band

The Grateful String Band is a Chicago bluegrass quintet of seasoned pickers and Deadheads who reimagine the Grateful Dead's five decades of material acoustically, alongside Old & In The Way and other Dead side-project repertoire. The set moves from crowd favorites to deep cuts, from Pigpen's blues to Jerry's ballads, all recast as high-octane bluegrass. They play across the Midwest, including Garcia's in Chicago, the Frankfort Bluegrass Festival and outdoor dates like Settlers' Park in Plainfield.
