Grateful To Be Alive

Grateful To Be Alive is a Grateful Dead cover band based in Hastings-on-Hudson, in lower Westchester. Its Facebook page names five members -- Erk Blicker, Rich Lobovsky, David Hamburger, Charlie Caldarola and Vincent D'Agastino -- but does not say who plays what, and no founding year is published anywhere I could find. The band's signature gig is a free annual summer show on the Hastings waterfront at MacEachron Waterfront Park, which a local listing says drew more than 400 people, and they repeat the formula at Dobbs Ferry Waterfront Park; their site also names Doubleday's, Maureen's and City Winery without locations. They play across the catalog rather than one era, citing both long "Dark Star" jams and acoustic-leaning material like "Friend of the Devil."
