New Potato Caboose
Washington, DC · formed 1983
New Potato Caboose formed in 1983 at Catholic University in Washington, DC and still works the mid-Atlantic, from Ardmore Music Hall to Brooklyn Bowl to the Ramble Festival in Darlington, Maryland. The long-running lineup pairs Doug Pritchett and Don Laux on guitars and vocals with Tim Pruitt on lead guitar, John 'Red' Redling on keys, Mike Mahoney on bass and the twin drums of John Trupp and John McConnell. Their roots-rock and Americana originals - including the album 'It Ain't a Thing', cut at Dave Matthews' Haunted Hollow studio - carry the Dead's influence alongside Little Feat, CSN and The Band.
