Old Head

Old Head began in 2018 when Jeremy Reichwein started gathering friends to play the earliest Grateful Dead material, and it has stayed a loose collective ever since: Reichwein and Todd Pafford on guitars, Andy Harden on bass, Eric Buchner and Larry Byrne on keyboards, Terry Collins and Mike Kirby on drums. Unlike tributes that work the whole songbook, Old Head confines itself to 1965 through 1970, chasing period-correct tones, Pigpen's blues and the primal jams of the acid-test era. They play the Baltimore-Washington corridor, including brewery bills like Hopkins Farm Brewery in Havre de Grace.
