Rays Of Violet

Rays Of Violet is a five-piece Grateful Dead tribute band established in Frederick, Maryland in 2020, made up of Jared on drums and vocals, Jason on rhythm guitar and vocals, Cyrus on lead guitar and vocals, Phil on keyboards and Derek on bass. They describe their sound as funk-infused jams and soulful psychedelic vibrations built on the classic Dead repertoire, with rock, blues, reggae, country and jazz turning up along the way. The band bills itself as the premier Grateful Dead cover band in the DMV and plays breweries, taprooms and outdoor series around Frederick, including Sky Stage and the city's Summer Concert Series.
