Reuben's Painted Mandolin

Reuben's Painted Mandolin is a Pittsburgh tribute to the Jerry Garcia Band, led by Pappy and featuring Al Reiber, Cherylann Hawk on vocals, Tony Thiel on drums and Stephen 'pUNK' Cunningham. They take the JGB approach — soul and gospel covers, long unhurried grooves — rather than the Grateful Dead's own repertoire. They are regulars on the Pittsburgh circuit, playing Thunderbird Music Hall, Mr. Smalls, the Pittsburgh Winery and area breweries, and make a habit of marking Jerry's birthday every August.
