Shakedown Street

Shakedown Street grew out of jam sessions at the Ancient Mariner in Manitou Springs and has played continuously since February 1987, making it one of the longest-running Grateful Dead tribute bands anywhere. The band's own history page tracks every lineup change across nearly four decades; the current five-piece is Josh Rosen on lead guitar, Peter Czolowski on rhythm guitar, Edwin Hurwitz on bass, Joe Weisiger on keys and Joel Zeiner on drums. They work the Front Range hard, from the Aggie Theatre in Fort Collins and the Little Bear in Evergreen to Boulder Theater and Swallow Hill anniversary shows, drawing on Americana, folk, blues and jazz as much as on the Dead's own arrangements.
