The Golden Road

The Golden Road is a Seattle ensemble of players pulled from the city's jam, jazz, rock and roots scenes: guitarist Andy Coe, bassist Keith Lowe, guitarist Colin Higgins, drummer Eric Eagle, keyboardist Paul Moore and keyboardist Wayne Horvitz. Their format is the album show — full performances of Europe '72, the 1971 Skull and Roses live record, and Reckoning — plus themed nights like a Bob Weir set spanning 1967 to 1973. Rather than copying tapes note for note, they treat the records as a frame for open-ended playing. They are a long-running Seattle fixture at Nectar Lounge, Hidden Hall in Fremont and the Royal Room, with occasional trips out to the Quilcene Lantern.
