Gold Dead
Hayward, CA · since 1992
Gold Dead formed in the Bay Area in 1992 — originally as The Fillmore Brothers — around siblings Myles and Connie McCarron and keyboardist Mark Fremont, with Tim Lowry on bass and Scott Barnett on drums. The band bills its shows as a trip through the San Francisco sound of the '60s and '70s: Grateful Dead first, but with Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger Service, and blues and country from the same era in the book. Over the years they have shared stages with the Gregg Allman Band, Elvin Bishop, and Moby Grape's Jerry Miller. Regular rooms include The Saloon in North Beach, Retro Junkie in Walnut Creek, and The Bistro in Hayward.
