About the band
Stu Allen & Mars Hotel
San Rafael, CA
Guitarist and vocalist Stu Allen has been playing the Grateful Dead songbook in Bay Area rooms since 1995, and along the way has shared stages with Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, and Bill Kreutzmann and held the guitar chair in Melvin Seals & JGB. Mars Hotel is his working band of Bay Area players. They are the regulars behind Ashkenaz's long-running Grateful Dead Nights in Berkeley, turn up at Terrapin Roadshow and Deadwood City all-star bills, and close most years with a New Year's run at HopMonk Novato. Expect two full sets, long segues, and no two nights alike.
