DeadPhish Orchestra is a Colorado quartet built from the remains of Phix, the first nationally known Phish tribute band, whose members met in 2001. The current group — guitarist Paul Murin, bassist Brian Adams and keyboardist Ted Tilton among them — debuted as DPO on New Year's Eve 2009 after a jam slid from 'Here Comes Sunshine' straight into 'Bathtub Gin' at a Denver club. Shows are segue-driven rather than faithful, welding the Dead's folk-blues to Phish's angular funk, and they tour nationally with guests from Furthur, String Cheese Incident, Leftover Salmon and Yonder Mountain String Band.
